Ryan came into the house bearing this beautiful little morsel:"What is it, Dad?"
"Where did it come from?"
"A tree in the corner of the yard."
Dad and boys tromp to yard, return with more of same morsels. It turns out that we have a garden plum tree out in that corner. It's the scrawny tree here, centered in this picture. They dragged Jeff out to chop some of the maple branches from above the plum tree, in hopes that it will be more prolific next year.
Meanwhile, there were 4 perfect little plums, a mere bite or 2 for each of us. (sigh) Until next year, then, this photograph will have to suffice.

You had a plum tree and didn't even know it! Also, your dish is so pretty!
What a find! I love plums! How great that this time next year you will be enjoying more of the purple beauties! I look forward to seeing what you create with them! Hey, can Jeff come over and trim some of my trees? :-)
