Thor's Strawberries

Wednesday, some of Thor's people went strawberry picking. They felt that Thor would not be welcome at the strawberry patch, because he'd be likely to nap on the berries. Thor spent a while outside waiting for them to come back, then laid down just inside the back door to wait.

And wait he did, for 3 hours (don't you love the delightful view of the porch leading to my garage?).

He was very glad to see the boys.
He was perplexed by the strawberries. Instead, Thor got a doggie treat. Then he and the boys went outside to enjoy the sunshine, and, once again, all was right in Thor world.
(Paula, that is only 2 of the 3 baskets they brought home. My vultures will have to do a lot of picking to destroy our crop.)

I'm so jealous. I'd go nutso-cookoo for a strawberry patch within walking distance of my house.

I'm sure he was just "resting" his eyes. He was actually very alert the whole time! Oh and the strawberries do look yummy!

My dogs would have their head in the baskets eating as fast as they could. They love strawberries.

Very nice! All 4 of our kids love strawberries, but no one as much as LOLA! She'll beg you for the leafy heads that would otherwise get tossed! :)

Look at that big belly! I just want to use it as a pillow!

Wonderful! Sissy would be ear-deep in one basket, with Gretchen trying to bounce into the other... Thor is such a gentle giant. He should open a finishing school for wild fur-kids.

Happy Thorsday, Thor! The boys did great! Picking berries is so hard on the back; all that bending, squatting and reaching! Of course, those young fellas of yours probably wouldn't even feel a sore tinge tomorrow! Hmmm ... how red were their fingers afterward (or should I say their chins)?! So what are you going to do with all this bounty? My stash of Sure-Jel pectin is going to waste here waiting, waiting, and waiting for summer fruit. Please send the sun westward. It teased us yesterday, but is overcast again today.

PS: Meant to say that I like your 13 year old's t-shirt! I like the one he had on the other day, too. My son likes the same kind of designs! Ah, these boys of ours our growing up! Although, mine did get his long hair cut, and it makes him look so much younger instead of older! His sisters like his new look, but I suspect he's going to grow it out again. At least he'll be cooler over the summer ... if it ever arrives! :-)

Jam, I need some jam but before that shortcake will do nicely:)

Patient Thor, I'm sure he'd happily gobble down some Strawberry Shortcake.

Mmm to strawberry jam - and I have some in the fridge. I always associate jam and jelly making with Christmas. Whenever we stayed with Mum's parents for Xmas Nana would be busy making her plum and berry jams.

Well done, Thor's people. Sending a huge huggle to utterly hugable Thor,

Michelle and Zebbycat
