Happy Veteran's Day
On this day, Thor implores you to pause and remember the veterans who have served our country for 235 years.
They include a great uncle I never knew I had, who was shot down over Italy during World War II, leaving a 20 year old widow and no children, and a great grandfather who served in the Spanish American War. I don't know much about him, so I like to picture the man as one of Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders.
I'd also like to salute Debbie Cook's oldest son, who's in his final weeks of basic training in the Marine Corps, and Bev and Larry's son, a Lieutenant Colonel. My hat's off to both of you for raising such fine men.
Happy Veteran's Day, everyone. Pause to give thanks for those who defend our liberty so valiantly!

Great post... Supporting our troops is so important!
Who doesn't love a patriot? Happy Veteran's Day to you and the family, Thor.
Thank you for that post, Thor. It is so important to remember our brave men and women (and dogs, too).

Well said. It's important to remember that no matter your political affiliation, the troops are doing an admirable thing for all of us. And I think, too often, that's forgotten.
all hero's should be saluted :o)
Marjie - you went to school with Meg Ryan !! awesome :o)) bet her lips were much nicer back then than now...
Love that photo! I received an uncle by marriage when he made good on a promise to a buddy who was shot down in WWII; he DID come home and marry his friend's girl, and we were so blessed to have him in our family.
