We Do Too Feed Thor!

I gather from the pretzel reaction that no one believes Thor is fed his full due. This picture would seem to bear out that conclusion.
However, please note this picture from last Christmas. One of the kids got the bright idea to throw him a green M&M (because that's the healthy color for food), and my daughter got the picture.

Great view of those teeth, eh? Gotta love that dog.

And, to update you all, a few weeks back, I posted that Thor was having trouble walking. After discounting the vet's statement that it was all because he's too fat (does he look too fat to you? because he doesn't to me; just happily fed), I bought him some Glucosamine and Chondritin, which is supposed to be good for joints that don't work so well any more. And I am pleased to report to all of Thor's friends that he does seem to be getting up and down better! All you furry friends out there can remember this for your human mommies, in case you get to be a bit arthritic, too.

Everyone have a great weekend, and get out there and romp with your human/four footed friends!

It looks like Thor get his fair share; he looks healthy and happy. I wouldn't argue with him if he wanted something. I am glad to hear that you have him on the mend.

I'm catching up on your posts. I really really need that sprayer. Honestly, I just threw away two cans of cooking spray yesterday. And luckily I found one at the back of the cupboard with a smidge left in it. I've got bananas and I'm going to make that caramel banana coffee cake as soon as I can. Do you mind if I post your PORT bread recipe on my blog? I will link it to your recipe here, if that's OK with you. Just let me know. Thanks.

Thor is just a big pup. Big bones, too;0) I give Grover some Authority treats from Petsmart. It takes 6 a day, but he loves them and is getting Glucosamine and Chrondoitan along with the treat. I think it helps.

I hope that was the one and only M&M he received.... CHOCOLATE is NOT good for dogs - in any quantity.

Other than that, cute pics!

We know Thor isn't supposed to get any chocolate, and that was probably the only one he's ever gotten in his life. But it was a colorful picture, wasn't it?

He is too cute and I don't think he's fat, just pleasantly plump. I love the shot of him catching the m&m!

lol.. you know, I reread your post after and I had a feeling that was a sneaky kid and one time only thing -... and it IS an adorable pic... :) tell them popcorn or peanuts next time (just not too much... ha ha)! :)

Hey Thor - I've snuck lots of chocolate and it's didn't hurt me at all. When I was a cute little puppy, I ate an entire box of Girl Scout Thin Mints - well I left the box, but ate the rest. One silly little M&M won't hurt! Abby

ahjt5hwaotenamlknbk - Push over! Thor, my mommy says we're big dogs too and so she's gonna start giving us those same treats. Do you get them with something or are you just good and take the capsules? I have to take Benedryl everyday and I pretend I won't take it without bread, or cheese, or peanut butter - tell your mom, it works great! Lucy

(Sorry Marjie - looks like the girls took over the keyboard. Cute photos of Thor, as always - g)

This totally cracks me up! Of all the dogs on the planet, Thor definitely lays claim to being not only well loved but well fed! It's that face of his with those big eyes that just makes you want to say, "Awwh, give the fella a treat." Just look a those photos! My, what big teeth he has! And that neck ... lordy he's a big, strong, handsome boy! I can just imagine him next to your little neighbor dogs raising their heads to the sky and "singing". Are joint problems common in Thor's breed? Poor boy. Look at that face. And those eyes. Maybe you should feed him a treat!

Yeahhhh Thor...Thank you mommy Marjie

It's so good to hear Thor is getting around better. Isn't he a large breed? Who's this vet that says he's too fat??? I really don't think so!
Healthy and fed!!! Even M&Ms!!!

Thanks for sharing the photos! Have a great weekend!

That's a great picture of Thor snapping up the M&M. Oh yes, chocolates are bad for dogs though.

Thor is my kind of Dog, looks like he does well for himself and isn't too hard done by at any rate.

I will have to keep Glucosamine and Chondritin in mind if Ginger ever starts to seem effected by arthritis. Labs are prone to so many ailments.

What great timing to get funny photos like that! Thor does not look fat to me either. That's good the supplements are working for him.
