Aristotle said that. He must have known that this spring was coming. We had a week of fine days last week, with highs around 70 every day. So my rhododendron decided on Sunday to start blooming. Yesterday's high was 37, and here's what the poor flowers looked like this morning, when it was 24 degrees:
(don't mind the dirt on the outside of my windows. Even if I washed them, they'd be dirty again as soon as it rained again.)

You are lucky you have flowers. My rhododendron and camelia are still trying hard to recover from our very cold winter! I do not expect any flowers this year from either :( Diane
Oh no! I planted basil yesterday, I am hoping I am right that we are over with winter!
I hear ya - my tulips started coming up and it was 20 degrees last night!
Yup. Some very young, very early to leaf trees will be naked this summer I fear. I saw a lot of frost-bite on our walk this afternoon.
I'm all for a little cooler but hope that real cold doesn't make it down here at this point - I don't see Aristotle quoted on many blogs I read - color me way impressed.
