One of the great things about living in an old house is the strange old features it has.
Mine has a weather vane, in the form of a whale.
This picture was taken as thunder and lightning were all around us, people down the road were losing power, and limbs were being ripped from trees within 5 miles of us. Yet we stayed dry. Strange thing, weather. Really strange.
Happy Tuesday, everyone!

I have a glorious rooster atop my roof. It was a house-warming gift from my sweet realtor. We're having the same odd rain patterns here. At the moment, we're hoping that means the awful storm misses us, but we're grateful for the rain.
I am insanely jealous of your weather vane. I want one!
Weather can be very strange indeed! Cool photo of the weather vane.
Hope you are feeling better.
Dude, that's so cool!
Nice shot Marjie and it looks way up there.
Happy Tuesday everyone, your place is really beautiful :D

A whale ? Cool !
We had that storm at home the other night. I was on the bus, WE only had rain. Bob had a nightmare of a night though, Alex just doesn't like storms (funny, they never bothered her at all til about a year ago) so he was up all night with her.
Weather sure is really strange, isn't it?
What a great photo. Weather this time of year seems to be crazy everywhere. We've had some insane dust storm lately that you just have to see to believe.
I do believe one of the reason why I moved to PA is because I never saw so many weather vanes in my life! (I thought they were called lighting rods) Yours looks way cool Marjie. I'll trade ya for my fountain!!!
And now for more intense humidity...
The weather dude says we might get some rain tomorrow. We're going to get up early and do a rain dance in the back yard.

Happy Thursday!
Oh I love weather vanes and so wish my house had one. They are amazing! Glad the weather missed you. g
I have never seen a whale weather vane, that sounds very unusual. We often watch rain and storms going through the valley across the local town and we get nothing. Weather can be very localised. As you say it is quite strange. Have a great weekend Diane
This is really lovely image, with the purplish sky in the background.
Don't you love to watch that vane spin? I guess we could simply stick out head out a window and see its blowing up a storm, but it's fun to track it "picking up" by watching the weather vane.
