Garden Tuesday: Rhododendrons!
This rhododendron might be 80 years old. I've struggled to keep it 6 feet high or less.
Please excuse the peeling paint on that shutter.
The flowers are always so pretty for a couple of weeks!
we have those in the same colour, in bloom now as well. the white ones have deflowered, so have the light purple ones too almost - but the bright pink are now in glorious bloom! wonderful with some colour in the garden.

Beautiful! That's what I miss most about my childhood homes... the old gardens. Sigh.
We are trying, not too successfully, to grow a rhododendron or two. I love them.
They are so pretty... we have one on the side of the house that's intertwined with a lilac bush and some weeds... we really need to fix that!
I am jealous, with the drought this year my flowers just never made it :-( Diane
I miss seeing the rhodendrons in the Smokies now that I live in CA. Love them.
It sure is pretty - one of my favorite plants
We don't have them here. Very beautiful!!

Your Roddy bushes are beautiful. Not all of mine have bloomed yet.

Sob. Ours are all going to the project house today... yes all 8 of them! Phooey.

The flower fell off of our cactus.
Rhodies flowering is such a triumphant announcement of late Spring and of the Summer. Do enjoy their brilliant beauty,

Lovely. They absolutely will not grow out here.
(Of course, then I had to go check out the peeling paint.)
I like your rhododendrons. They don't grow in our state, apparently, but I do remember having a pinker version of them when I lived in NJ.
