Thor's Thoughts on Cheese

So, what's a dog to do when it rains for days on end, and then, when the rain stops, a ferocious wind howls through his yard? Obviously, he brings his duck and sits beside his humans for comfort.

Our paper stuffs this food magazine in the first Wednesday edition each month. One of the articles in it yesterday was about pairing cheeses with beer. The first cheese choice was parmesan. Excuse me? Someone eats parmesan? It's so hard and dry I can't imagine not grating it to use in food, and instead saying, "Well, I think I'll just grab me a tasty chunk of hard cardboard consistency cheese, and chow down!" Oh, well, On through cheddar and a couple of others, and then to the "WTF????" moment:

How many people actually wonder what is the proper beer to serve with Cheese Whiz? And when I read that to Thor, he let out a little howl of dismay, and shook his ears.

But I'm pretty sure he'd take the cheese whiz if it was offered. Hold the beer, thanks; neither of us cares for it.

Parmesan can be grated and fried into lattice cups that really look cool- and they're edible!

Cor, coo, Mickle and Zebbycat don't do beer either (Mickle does enjoy a good apple or pear cider, hard cider to you?).

Darling Thor, raining and windy here too for my cheese loving Zebbycat.

Fresh Parmesan is apparantly slicable, but we aren't in the parmesan province of Italy. The aged cheese we can get aint so flexible. And yep, this far away from Italy means I buy the locally made equivalents - when I can afford even them.

Happy Cheese that You like, darling Thor, in abundant quality and quantities. I'm hiding this comment from super-wide Zebbycat.

XXXXX and super love and care to Thor and all his human family, especially his darling Marjie who organises it all for Thor.

LOL! Great post Marjie... as a fan of cheese and adult beverages, especially together, this was a fun post for me to read. Much love to Thor!

I can't believe they would consider cheese whiz real cheese. I am with you, beer's not my thing.

Subject of cheese nasties didn't register at first - cheeze whiz?

Super nasty, nasty, have never found it over here (though it may lurk somewhere). Any chance of having this hideous over processed false, pretending to be cheesely yuck hunted down?

Real cheese over here folks!

I love cheese, but I won't be grabbing any Parmesan or Cheese Whiz for a snack. I also would prefer a glass of wine with my cheese not beer.

Sweet Thor! Say "cheese" for the camera!:)

Oh, I do like lace parmeasan, but I don't like beer or Cheese Whiz. I am quite certain that Sissy would love ANY cheese or cheese flavored goo.

Poor Thor. Gretchen doesn't care for wind and the limbs that creak and slap and...

I'd like to know who thought up the idea of cheese whiz? Ick. And whose idea was it to put cheese in a can? Double ick.

I am, though, a fan of parmesan cheese as part of an antipasta tray. I'm talking the good stuff though, not the Kraft wedge on sale at the market. Sliced thin or in small cubes, parmesan is most welcome on my antipasta tray.

My kitty cats would like to come hang out with Thor today. I'm getting a new roof and the pounding, scraping, nailing, and thudding noises are not pleasing to them. For that matter, I'd like to come hang out at your house today, too! :-)

Love the pictures of Thor and his duck. Sydney's not too fond of blustery days either.

He has a duck now!! How cute! Bear just adopted a chipmunk as his second friend, but the dolphin is still his BFF.

Awwwwwwww, how sweet, I love this picture of Thor! HoneyDew and Sampson sympathize as they had over a week of rain here, and HoneyDew really hates it!

LOL--I don't know, I would probably pair corona with cheeze whiz--if salsa was mixed into the cheeze whiz :)

Though I'm NOT a fan of "fake cheese" either I'm almost sure Rudy would like it...that is if I'd give it to him!

Rudy says...Hey Thor!!

Hmm, I'm nibbled on parm. It's nice. but it is better on pasta. However - cheese-whiz. maybe I should serve that at the next poker party? g

Poor Thor, is the duck for rain? What does his lobster help with?

Probably the only ones who care are the frat boyz...I can't even remember having my last taste of cheese whiz.

Poor Thor! He must have been dying to get outside and play. It's so funny seeing this big bear with his duck, but I'm sure he's a gentle dog.

I'm a big cheese fan, but I only eat Parmesan with pasta or salad.

As for Cheese Whiz, I don't like it. My children can eat the whole box if I let them, though. =)
