...because his people keep leaving him. This is his last human sister, getting ready to leave for college last weekend.
That's why he was supervising kickball yesterday.
OK, so maybe he was watching the street, to be certain no one had the nerve to walk past his house. A dog has to do what a dog has to do.

Poor Thor... Fred - our first basset - was beside himself when the Page moved out.
Poor baby, he has no idea where they are going.
Hi Thor. It's so sad when our dearest people going away from us.
Stay well, buddy!

Poor fella. I bet he has his sights set on Thanksgiving. How are you holding up with fewer kids around your dinner table? *sniffle*
Poor Thor!
Thor needs a road trip. Load him up in the Lincoln and take him for surprise visits to his peeps!
It's ok Thor, they'll be back and just think how happy you'll be to see them come in the door.
Poor Lonely Thor... tell your Mom that maybe you need another furry sibling to play with...
Hope you are doing okay Mr. Thor. Thanks for wishing my boy well - he's doing better :) g
Poor Thor! Glad to see he's still guarding his house though and playing kickball :)
Awww...poor Thor. Hang in there guy...she'll be back for Thanksgiving...right?
Aw... is he guarding the place from intruders, or is he just watching to see if anyone has changed their minds and are coming back home?
Poor Thor!
Give that big ol' boy a kiss for me.
*smak*
Dear Thor - please give him a huge cuddly huggle from us.
They do miss "their people" when they are away, don't they?
