I will never forget the unspeakable horror of that day, when innocent people were killed by those who do not like us. We survive and thrive; we will never forget.

Today our Fire Service gathered to remember and honour the NYFC, gathered at a memorial in Christchurch, a memorial that has pieces of steel girders from one of the Towers.
I remember waking up to this news on the 10th here, and my feelings of horror.
What happened on September 11th 2001 will never be forgotten. And I will never forget the incredible brother and sisterhood* of Fire Services worldwide.

I remember exactly what I what doing when President Kennedy was shot, and 911 also. They are moments frozen in time for all Americans..
I am piddling, already. FIL and two dear friends of mine have planned our first service of remembrance, and I am sorry I can't attend. (Someone has to staff the business!)

Thank you for the thoughtful post today. We were all bound together that day in our collective horror and fear. Today we are still the strong country we always were and will always be. And we will never forget the innocent lives lost that day nor the lives of the men and women who ran into the buildings to help while everyone was running out.
