Alas, I fear we're nearing the end of the summer that never really came.
So, Ryan dug up another square of carrots, and at Mom's insistence, washed away most of the dirt outside. The guinea pigs were grateful for the carrot tops. The carrots themselves will become a veggie with tomorrow's dinner, and maybe a loaf of carrot bread, too.
And my peas look weird. I don't know if they will turn green, or if they turned yellow before they got to be full sized. This gardening stuff is confusing.
I still have a couple of zucchini to go. I also have another square of carrots and, of course, my chives are plugging right along. In a week or 2, I'll reflect on this garden thing. Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to getting some apples and grapes!

I'm sorry you never had a summer. We actually had rain today and it's 67 degrees! It's a miracle!
I don't know what to tell you about the peas, but doesn't yellow mean that they got too much water or something?
But those carrots? They sure look mighty fine and if you have some spare carrot bread laying around, you know where to find me!!
It just seems odd to me that your garden is winding down, and I'm busily trying to get things ready so that I can plant!
Your young farmer looks totally at ease rinsing off those veggies! Looking forward to hearing your reflection ... and seeing what you do with the grapes and apples!
Good looking carrots. Lucky guinea pigs getting the impressive fresh greens from them.
Sorry I can't help you about the peas. I can only eat sugar snap and snow peas. Maybe pick them now anyway and try them out - just a gentle steam. Otherwise the dear little piggies might score another feed from the garden!
Zeb has turned so his back is to me - guess who doesn't "do" veggies.
Things are winding down here fresh produce wise, too..
Oh shoot! I should have taken a photo of the first harvest from the "volunteer" tomato plant that jumped up in the flower bed at work. It was delicious!
I think yellow pea pods do mean something less than ideal, but too many years have passed between me and my farming roots.
You really got a bounty from your garden. Our zucchini didn't do well at all.
When you arite about your garden, I'd love to hear how the boys think it went.
socks outside?
Weird about summer, what happened?
