Garden Tuesday: On Wednesday

Two of my smaller rhododendrons out front are blooming merrily - they opened up yesterday.

So why is the bigger one stubbornly refusing to flower?

Oh, well, that just means more flowers in a couple of weeks.

It's a determined little flower!

Better that they do not all flower at once, far more pleasure if they bloom at different times. I was only complaining to my husband yesterday that all the peonies are out now, they look wonderful but only for a couple of weeks a year! Hope all is well Diane

I love that color. In Maryland we had a row of eight azalea plants against the fence. Every year there was one plant that bloomed about three weeks after all the others. I looked forward to that late bit of color.

Beautiful. The @#$^ deer ate ours, which is why there aren't as many blooms.

We have one and I don't believe it has ever bloomed!
