No, not deep thought here. I just wondered how many people will talk back to me.
My dearly beloved received a box of Omaha Steaks Filet Mignons for his birthday. No, not from me. I don't spend that kind of money on meat; it came from a business associate. Anyway, in the box was a little packet of "Conversation Cards" with a few fun questions. So, since the lemon meringue birthday pie is long gone, I thought I'd see if any of you will converse with me!
It's a rainy weekend day. Do you....sleep, read, clean house, work or look out the window all day?
For me, the answer is sleep until the crack of noon, read, maybe sew, look out the window a little bit. If I'm behind on my work, I might do a little filing. On weekdays, of course, we all have to do what we have to do, and, personally, I hope for the sunshine on my weekends!
The other fun surprise in the box of steaks was a tiny bit of dry ice surviving. The little boys poked it with a fork, which made the fork hum, and watched it evaporate. They enjoyed their little present, too!

On a rainy weekend I probably would blog for a while and then sleep sleep sleep!
Hey, you have an Easy button!
Rainy days are my life here in Oregon. As I type this at 11:15 at night, it's raining. If I had typed this at 11:15 am, it would still have been raining. My car windshield wipes are perpetually on from October to June. So, for me, it's life as usual. Now, if the sun comes out ... that's a different story. My mood brightens, my energy gets a boost, and I'm ready to go!
I want that "easy" button! How cute is that! Cool bit, too, about the fork humming.
I would cook, but then that is not one of the choices given. If I had to choose from your suggestions, I would clean my house. I actually enjoy house cleaning. Or really, maybe it is that I enjoy a clean house.
Oh we have waaay too many rainy weekends in the North of England we would never get out even in summer! During the winter months we have a little lie in, late brunch, some house cleaning and an afternoon film :-) I could just eat that lemon meringue for breakfast xxx
Well, it's a very rainy Sunday morning, and here I am reading blogs, but I'm probably going to sneak back to bed for an hour or so...
The fur creatures who live in my house don't know it's the weekend but they DO know when it's 5-6am and THAT's the time to get Mommy up !
So a rainy day for me will not include sleeping in, but the laundry will get done (course the machine does all the work LOL) and I would probably treat myself to a TV, reading, knitting, sewing, blogging day - a ME day ! :-)
by the way - Happy Birthday to your Hubby !
Is it a warm rain or a cold one? If it was warm I'd go for a walk in it if it was cold I'd be on the computer;) Happy Birthday to the man of the house!!
Marjie, for me a rainy weekend is all the above. I try to get a few of those things done I have been putting off, I read a book that has been collecting dust - which spurs me to do a little dusting & straightening up and I usually will cook some recipe from my "must try" list that puts an aroma throughout the whole house and warms the damp air from the outside rain. Then I will fall a sleep into one of those deep restful type sleep ~ hoping to awake to a bright new sunrise.
Enjoy the steaks....
Here in Sacramento we are in for a rainy week. 6-10 inches expected. I plan on sleeping and knitting quite a bit. In between homeschooling, and MAYBE cleaning house.
If its cold and rainy I love nothing more than to laze around in the morning being cozy with a book or catching up on any of my recorded shows I haven't had a chance to watch. Since I work during the day all week I do have to spend some of that time doing my housework!
BTW, I love the Omaha Steaks!
Yeah my boys would have been all over that dry ice. Happy belated to your husband, Omaha steaks would also be a welcome treat.
dry ice is so much fun....
What is surprising is dry ice isn't cheap!
I actually like to do housework on rainy days for some reason, but I'd be sure and sneak a nap in there, too.
Omaha steaks are soooo good! What a treat!
On a rainy weekend, I would get to all those chores around the house that are on the back burner, then read or watcha really good chick flick.
On a rainy weekend - hmmm, web-surfing with coffee followed by: reading; knitting; or sewing while watching movies - depending upon the mood. g
