Thor!!!

Thor has been home about 4 hours. He's staggering like a drunk - it's a good thing my son stapled carpet to the ramp he made Thor last week, or the poor guy wouldn't be in the Suburban yet. He came in, leaned on everyone for a while (Mango's Momma knows the Mastiff Lean), and then laid down.

Thor's snoring loudly, instead of his normal soft snoring. He's got fentanyl patches on his haunch, and they warned us not to let him run or jump, and to give him plenty of cage rest.

All of which leads to the questions: Does Thor need to be told to walk, not run? And what size cage do they think we have, zoo sized, maybe?

Anyway, happy day! Thor survived the anesthesia, and will be just fine. Thank you all for your well wishes.

Thor will be a good boy and take it easy. It's my crazy pack that tries to do ballet moves after surgery. Even with sedatives I couldn't keep them quiet.

Glad he's doing well. It's scary at his age.

What Sue said. Thor will be sedate and a good patient, unlike my girls who don't do calm or quiet... and what IS cage rest? ;)

Hello Thor, I'm glad you are home and safe. We know you big doggies are very good at resting and leaning, so take it easy big fella. Sending little kisses. No worries, and love, Stella

Don't run or jump. As if a mastiff would engage in such foolishness. I just hope you can get up again. That floor looks kind of slippery.

So glad Thor is doing well. I was quite worried about him. What - you don't have a zoo sized cage? g

Ah Thor, poor guy! Good to hear the recovery is ongoing! Hope you're fit as a fiddle in no time!

The mastiff lean, oh yes, we are well familiar with those too..

Am hugely relieved that Thor is home and doing okay. I hope he keeps leaning on his special people - that's what you have them for, darling Thor, and that he has a safe and cosy space to snoozle the anaesthetic off comfy-wise.

When Zebby Cat has come home after a general anaesthetic he does a "hyper" checking everything out in His home umpty-something times before sleep eventually (hours later) takes over. Dear Thor's method seems far nicer and kinder for him and for his people.

Sending special care and huggles for Thor, and care to you all, Michelle and....(Zebby is under his quilty again ... sending much care and love each of us - awake or snoring we care very much

Poor Thor, it does not sound like he wants to run around much at the moment! Perhaps you can borrow a cage from the zoo!! Hope he will soon be back to normal. Diane

Just adding to all the prayers for Thor's recovery. Glad he's home and I know you are too -- Thor is the gladdest he's home I'm sure. Give him a gentle hug for all of us.

Wonderful news! I don't know much about the Mastiff "lean" but if it's going to hurt you Thor, please don't do it:)
