Another Critter With Thor's Name?

So, yesterday Thor was attending Mark's reading class, as he always does. When he heard me ask, "Who is Thor?" his ears perked up. Thor was a kitten in the story.

Our Thor didn't understand, so Mark gave him the book. Since there are no pictures in the book, Thor got bored with it. And he still didn't know: Of what use is a kitten?

Then we showed him a picture of our first Mastiff, Sarge, with his kitten, Graceful. AH HA! A kitten is a friend of Mastiffs! Why didn't anyone say so???

LOL, but Thor sure is a silly name for such a small creature, right?

Very cute post, Marjie. I'm glad you were able to help Thor understand!

Love how you explain things. Thor's right - why didn't you just say so in the beginning.

I love that Graceful just sat there and Sarge sniff him, so very gently! g

Awwww ... I love the kitty photo! I bet gentle giant Thor would be a great protector of all things kitten-like! Years ago, we went to look at a log-cabin that was for sale at the mountain, and the seller/owner of the cabin had a HUGE mastiff (it could look eye to eye with me when I was sitting in the truck). Anyway, the owner assured us that the giant was friendly so I climbed out and headed toward the house. When we got to the porch, the mammoth sized dog reached down and picked up a tiny, little kitten by putting the feline's head in it's mouth and walked away with it hanging there. I got all panicked and the owner quite calmly said that the mastiff thinks he's the kitten's mom, and was carrying it away to safety. Sure enough, the little feline was crawling all over the now reclining doggie. We all said collective "awww's" at that! That was like 20 years ago, and I've never forgotten seeing that dog/kitten interaction!

So a kitten would be a good friend for the Mango too? I am glad you got that all straightened out.

Slobbers,

Does Thor have a pet? Now he'll want a kitten of his very own.

Awwwwww, that last picture is so cute and I love all the wrinkles that Sarge had! I think Thor would understand better though if maybe he would have a kitten of his own ;-)

Wonderful post. My great danes both had cat friends too. Gentle giants are awesome. I don't think I could trust MaggieMae with a kitten, she's too much of a hunter! Not gonna chance it!

I thought Thor was a huge dog until I saw Sarge's photo!

What a thoughtful way to explain it all to darling Thor. Good to see his humans looking out for him.

Huggles from me, Zeb is flat out sleeping after testing our bed all afternoon while I was at work. Hope he's left some sleepability in it for me, lol!!!
