Garden Tuesday: First Frost

Last Thursday, Ryan exclaimed in horror as he let Thor out. There was frost on our back lawn.

Happily, it got to be 56 degrees that day. It's been exceptionally warm for about 2 weeks, and we are most grateful.
Over the weekend, all of the remaining green leaves turned yellow. It was a shock to notice that on Monday morning!

Here's hoping that the evil white stuff holds off until December!

It's raining just hard enough to strip most of the remaining, browning leaves from the trees around here. Hrmph. I like the pretty leaves!

Kinda hard to understand our first frost in the south coming before Pa. I'm confident you'll blow right by us with real winter weather from here though. I keep an eye on the Fairmont/Morgantown weather and they are running just a little cooler than here.

We got our first storm of the year this past weekend. While we normally get flurries around this time of year, we got inches!

Oooo, what a chilly start to the day for dear Thor. My place seldom gets a frost in winter, but my Folks up in sunny Tauranga get plenty.

Enjoy the sunshine and keep coy and warm in the evenings, Michelle and ol' snorey cat.
