In Celebration of Pi Day...

...which was Thursday (3.14 to geeks everywhere), I made two pies:

Dutch Apple pie with crumb topping (I always add nuts to mine)

And Lemon Chess Pie.

My wonderful daughter gave me two 9" pie plates for Christmas, because I didn't have any, so I used one of them.  I guess most people take pie plates for granted, but not me!  I haven't been making pies for very long, so they are a miracle to me!

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!

what fun. and what do you mean you haven't been making pies that long? Look at your turkey day posts - they *always* have pie and lots of it!! g

Well, you already know that no pie happened here because the mad scientist was in the kitchen reaffirming that he doesn't bake... even with a waffle iron.

I have dishes either too large or too small. Nothing at quite the right size, but I also do not make pies very often! Have a good day Diane

I was ready for Pi Day this year, but no pie. I hope to remedy that situation this afternoon with a blackberry pie. I have new cake pans because a couple of black and white puppies used my old ones as their food bowls. That's one way to get new pans.

Sounds good....and it HAS to have nuts. I have about 10 pie plates and use all of them at branding time ;)

My mom was a deft hand with pies, and I've never tried. With good reason. Yours look lovely.
