A Weekend of Sewing

Saturday morning, I wanted to wear my green lace dress, but it was too warm for the long sleeved one I made a while back. So I made up this summer one.

There was only a yard of fabric left, so I made a tee. I might have to give it to my daughter, who loves it.
I had cut out 2 yellow gauze dresses, but didn't have yellow zippers! So I assembled what I could. This one is from a pattern Claire gave me.
This one is princess seamed, like the green lace one above.
If only some idiot had the right color zippers.

Then I wanted to make a new dressing gown from the beautiful watercolor fabric I got last fall. It's a real project; it took about 12 hours. This is a silk chiffon, and it's a bear to work with. But the fabric gave me an impressionist feeling, and I love impressionist paintings. Anyway, I love this dressing gown, and even my dearly beloved oblivious hubby said it's the prettiest, most feminine fabric he's ever seen.
I also made a little slip dress from it. I still have some of this, so it might make another appearance in my sewing room! Woo Hoo!
I hope I have the urge to sew next weekend, since new clothes are so much fun!

New Clothes are so much fun and look at the lovely bodoir set you made! Love the dresses. You are so going to have THE lace dress before I do.

I hope the sewing bug strikes us both next weekend. g

I'm with your dearly beloved, this is such a pretty fabric. And WOW - shoestring straps in silk chiffon! Those 12 hours will pay off everytime you wrap yourself in the beautiful, silky dressing gown.

My current dressing gown is full length in bright green polar fleece with huge great daisies all over, startling for any couriers who deliver early!

Heaven only knows where you find all the time to do everything you do....
I just love the dressing gown, if it goes missing you had better look for it in France:) Diane

Pretty new things for you and your DD (she'll win the "fight" for the tee). Enjoy!

Oh goodness, Marjie. Is there anything you can't do?

Each and everyone is more fabulous then the other. Amazing!!!

Oh how I wish I could sew. I mean, I can't even make a simple curtain for over the kitchen sink. I do however, have a GREAT collection of sewing notions. So, the next time you're looking for that final touch, let me know and I'll see what I have. I have some really cool buttons too!!!

Thanks for sharing...
