Wordless Wednesday: My Grandmother's Cutting Board

She had it as far back as I can remember.
And it still shows virtually no wear.

Who says things weren't better made "back in the day"?  Even wood.

Back when people took pride in making a fine item instead of seeing what a cheap piece of schlock they can produce for the highest price.

What Sue said. ;)

And after my previous comment, it won't surprise you to know that I am especially fond of wooden (or bamboo) cutting boards.

That's awesome! I really wish I had some of my Nana's items...

I'm sorry Marjie, the first thing that comes to mind is a paddle for spanking. Oh my, I could probably do time just for thinking such thoughts, lol...

I'm sure your grandmother didn't use it for that reason. It's nice to have a remembrance.

Thanks for sharing...

They make nothing to last nowadays. I still have a warm jacket of my brothers that I love, and still wear, that he bought in the late 1950s!! Have a good day Diane

It's cute too! It's nice to have a piece of your grandmother with you in the kitchen.

Howdy Marjie, it certainly wasn't a 'throw away' society back then. What a lovely reminder of your Grandmother. No worries, and love, Carol
