Garden Tuesday: Dogwood

I know dogwoods bloom in early spring.  Honestly, I do.  Having lived in Tennessee, how could I possibly forget the Dogwood Festival in Knoxville, where they paint pink lines on the roads which a motorist can follow to see all of the lovely blooming dogwoods?  Really! Who could forget pink lines?

Anyway, some of mine are still in bloom.  It's amazing.

I'm not hallucinating.  Here's one, close up.

Happy Dogwood Tuesday, everyone!

You must be enjoying some gorgeous weather and temperatures in PA. Our Dogwoods bloomed in April for about a week and a half and then it was a done deal. Your treas are beautiful!

I know. My fig tree thinks it's winter, my crepe myrtle thinks it's spring. My tomatoes figure they can just coast this summer. I'm going to stake out little cliffs notes for my plants so they recognize their inappropriate behavior.

I only miss a few things from our old house and my beautiful little Dogwood is one of them. Yours is gorgeous!

I love dogwoods. In Myrtle Beach I had a pink one growing just outside my bedroom window. I've tried to grow them here but with no success.

That's funny. Ours flowered in the appropriate spring, but I do love 'em and wouldn't complain if they flowered all summer.
