Garden Tuesday: Rhododendrons!

This rhododendron might be 80 years old. I've struggled to keep it 6 feet high or less.

Please excuse the peeling paint on that shutter.

The flowers are always so pretty for a couple of weeks!

Beautiful! That's what I miss most about my childhood homes... the old gardens. Sigh.

We are trying, not too successfully, to grow a rhododendron or two. I love them.

They are so pretty... we have one on the side of the house that's intertwined with a lilac bush and some weeds... we really need to fix that!

Lovely. They absolutely will not grow out here.

(Of course, then I had to go check out the peeling paint.)

I like your rhododendrons. They don't grow in our state, apparently, but I do remember having a pinker version of them when I lived in NJ.
