Grammar Day Pretzels

I know this is a late day post, but I couldn't ignore Thorsday, now, could I?

Yesterday, the boys made pretzels, using our Calvert School recipe, shaped like punctuation marks. Maybe it's not that original, but I'm not certain how else to illustrate grammar.

Anyway, the boys had fun (notice Thor sitting on the floor behind them, thinking I was out of the room and so wouldn't notice him in the kitchen).
Rolling out pretzels is such a clean procedure.

But weren't they beautiful!

MMMmmm, they look yummy!
I love that you have your boys in the kitchen!
My children had one assigned day a week to cook dinner for the family, (with the 7 yr old, we ate a lot of Corndogs and Tater Tots for a while there) but my older son enjoyed it so much that he's now an apprentice Chef!

Awww.... What a nice post. The boys and their dog all hanging out together. It doesn't get better than that.

They look so good! We have an unseen dog in the kitchen too or at least she thinks so:)

Mmm, mmm, good! The boys look like they had a good time making these! How many did they devour afterward? Did mom get one? We are making these tomorrow (at someone else's house - whew!) for Lent. Wish me luck!

I love how you get the boys in the kitchen and combining learning with baking is sheer genius!

The pretzels look good and I have to ask, did you get one?

What?! You cook without a dog in the kitchen? Sissy would find that totally unacceptable. The boys learned to settle and just watch, and move if they got in the way, and Gretchen is following suit, but Sissy? I assure you, Thor couldn't be as much in the way as she manages to be!

Hey, I'm back. We made the pretzels today, and they turned out great! I told the others about how often your fellas make these, as well as all the other ways you get them involved in the kitchen. You should have heard the kids (and other mom) shout out requests for how much they want to do those things. My son asked if we could make these every week. The nice guy made one for his twin, earning big points. Okay, you've got to move out here and help me! :-)

Those pretzels do pretty appetizing, and your boys are cuties! It's so nice to see other homeschoolers on DOT. I've been doing it for 10 years; my girls are in college now, but I still teach my 13-year-old son, and we love it. :)
