Brutus isn't the only one with da big feets.
What is it with shoes - maybe they like the smell of sweaty feet. We have the same issue with Bodie and despite the floor being littered with his favorite toys, he'll go to the back of the house to drag out a shoe.
He's so cute... especially since my shoes are safe!
To follow up on Big Dude's comment, dogs love what smells like us. Gg still literally climbs into our shoes (well, noses into mine) if they're damp/extra smelly. She doesn't chew; she rubs. She wants to smell like us!
Mac like to chew on laces. She eats off the plastic tips so that I can't get the laces thru the holes. Puppies!

I don't mean to talk about cats, but, cats also like the scent of their owner. My cat will lay on my clothes any chance she gets, or on my pillow.
