The lilac just outside my back porch has been working on blooming all weekend. Oddly, the flowers are all at the bottom of the tree, instead of spaced all over.
Aren't they pretty?
This lilac tree has multiple trunks; it's part of what the kids disparagingly call "the thicket." Of course, what large yard is complete without a couple of thickets?
And what garden is complete without pictures of the puppy inspecting the stones on his path?
Ah, the mighty hunter. I believe he was hunting a boxwood.
Happy Tuesday, everyone!

What a cutie! I love lilac trees - they smell so amazing.
Noble Brutus.
Two of my favorite scents! Lilac and puppy breath...
They sure are pretty, but I wish they didn't make me sneeze...
I'm deathly allergic to lilacs, but they are pretty from a distance.
That boy is sure growing fast.
Oh you lucky "gal" a blooming lilac and white no less. I have only recently planted lilacs around here, at the request of Marion of course, so we won't be getting any tremendous floral fragrances for a while. Patience:)
Thank you so much for sharing, I totally agree, a large yard needs thickets and plenty of them! (how else can we play hide n seek?
P.S. I know you are still gathering your thought but I did want to remind you about the Picnic Game. Hopefully you will be able to "play" this year. Can you believe it has been 5 years!!! Drop by my blog to pick up a letter if you can. Louise
