Happy Groundhog Day!

My daughter gave me a page-a-day calendar for Christmas. This is today's page.

This about sums up today's so-called festivities, doesn't it?

I'm sure we couldn't get off with as easy a winter as we've had. But it's been fun.

My last St, Mycroft, was taught to hate the little buggers by my ex. Killed one with a snap of the neck.

I admit I wasn't crazy about them They made enormous 'projects' by the barn and in the field... the field ones were the worst... couldn't have horses in the fields because they could hurt themselves in the blasted holes.

One day Myc got in an epic battle with one... he barked –– the GH make horrible clicking noises. It went on for nearly an hour about 3' from a hole. Exhausted, Myc actually crashed out and fell asleep for 5 minutes ... the GH escaped. Then Myc woke with a start and couldn't figure out where the GH had gone... it was hysterical!!

Agreed. And as a dog with a ... "go to ground" pedigree, Gretchen thinks it's REALLY silly that there wasn't a JRT on hand to give chase. Hem. ;)

Never seen a ground-hog but it looks quite cute in the picture.
It feels a bit like the Arctic here, I just knew this mild winter could not last!! Diane

I saw a picture yesterday that had a groundhog holding a sign that said "I'm a rodent NOT a meteorologist". He saw his shadow here but I don't believe in rodents.
