At The Pumpkin Farm

I took the boys to another used book sale this morning. They only found about a dozen books. I'm thinking that must mean we have an awful lot of books.

Then we went to the pumpkin patch. They had this cute decoration in front of the barn.

And the boys tromped around to select their pumpkins while I hid on the porch. Can you see why?

Yep. Stinkin' Snow. I told Chan around 11 that I thought we'd dodged a bullet, because it was just raining. That changed about 15 minutes later. And look what has happened in my side yard in just 2 hours!!!!

This could be bad. I'm putting hot water and coffee in thermoses, and heating the house way up, because with all the trees in full leaf, we are probably headed for a power outage. Maybe I can get my little guy's birthday cake made before that happens.

Happy Saturday, everyone.

I hope you escape a power outage - I hate them and living out where we are it happens fairly often.

I am all about snow as long as you keep your power. Snow with no power loses it's charm rapidly.

I do hope your power stays on, but it looks so pretty. The first snow always does till it turns gray and slushie and ugly. Let's hope this one doesn't amount to much.

I like the idea of your daughter having one cheerful bird and one cranky one. Sounds like a lot of couples I know.

Good luck!

Hrmph. Sorry to see that blanket of white! Hope that cake gets baked and the power stays on. The sky is dry at the moment, and the dogs have had their walk-walk.

Hi Marjie, glad your boys found some more books. Not so glad you have snow already. Fingers and paws crossed you keep your power on. No worries (we hope), and love, Carol, Stella and Rory

Guess what I saw yesterday... a baby mastiff!!!! All legs and cute as a button ( well a very very big button). I know you and I are among a very few who would consider an 80 lb puppy a sweet little thing. He had the sweetest face. Every time I see one I think of you!!!

Hope you are well in the storm... our building is installing a new boiler... and they have screwed up so NO HEAT!!! It would have been prettier yesterday had it been cozy warm inside. Our giant sycamore trees only lost 2 small branches, thank heavens.
Be warm and well.

Did your power stay on? Sorry for the early snow, but I clearly remember when my girls were little and we lived in Montana always having snow for Halloween. g

Interesting how you can predict the future! Loads of experience is worth tons. Hoping you don't have that outage! No snow here yet! Touch wood.

snow and power outage for halloween ? hmf... creepy enough, if you ask me... but plenty of pumpkins I guess... Do you have a great recipe for pumpkin pie ? I have never tasted it, would like to though...

Do you have any idea how jealous I am of all your book sales? I'm already counting down the days until our big sale in February!

I hope you were able to enjoy the snow and not just survive the hassle of it all!

P.S. I wish we lived closer! I ADORE making cookies and happily make dozens (ok, honestly, well over 100) almost every time I make them. I have to give tons of them away, because I will eat WAY too many myself!
