Not My Garden on Tuesday

This is clearly not my yard.

But I'm sure you know where we were last night.

It's the night when, as one of the student speakers said, everyone gets dressed up to wear a poncho, and the girls work hard at getting their hair just right, so they can put a square hat decorated with a cat toy on their heads.

It's a bittersweet event,

pride mingled with tears, as our second to youngest gets one step closer to embarking upon that wonderful journey called adulthood,

while our boy exudes joy.

(I don't think this guy was invited.  He just hopped in to join the party, and evidently have a late lunch.)

It was a great day.  We are proud of Ryan, our National Merit Commended Scholar (who got an 800 on his math SAT).

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

By the way, I'd have to look long and hard to find a better description of a mortarboard.

Congratulations to Ryan upon graduation and his scholastic achievements. You are the poster girl for home schooling. While your hubby is tall, there seems to be a really tall gene somewhere in the family tree.

Hi Marjie, congratulations to your Ryan. Yes, bittersweet, I can understand. How do the kids get to be so big so quickly?
Is this Ryan completing High School? We don't have such a formal finish. Ours is an evening with parents and friends and the students in Uniform receiving certificates etc. Cape and motarboard are reserved for finishing University. Thanks for sharing your wonderful family photos. No worries, and love, Carol

Oh my. Both "little boys" are so tall!! Congrats to you and to Ryan, and how lovely to see the four of you again, if only in a great photo.
