Garden Tuesday: Confused Forsythia

It's been so unseasonably warm here this year that my forsythia are confused.

See? Blossoms. Really pretty little yellow flowers.

And new leaves, too. Fortunately, this plant is so hardy that I think it can survive its mistaken belief that there have been two springs this year.

And I've put Thor looking rather grinch-like in his Santa hat as my new header. Tis the season, and all, and it's been decades since we've had a dogless Christmas.

Oh Marjie what a gorgeous photo of Thor and a lovely memory for you all. I am sure he will be sorely missed this Christmas.

Just catching up with your posts and thank you for sharing your family traditions over on Dolliedaydream.

Funnily enough I also heard a short news clip two evenings ago about daffodils starting to bloom this past week or so, even here in the North of England. Although we have had some hailstorms this week so maybe snow is on it's way to us ...

Have a lovely week x

My cousin in Fairmont, WV said her forsythia was in full bloom and her daffodils were up as are ours.

I love the Thor header - I bet he is really missed this time of year!

We have been having freezing weather the past few days... it's so cold!

Ha...maybe you wan't get winter. I've got a cottonwood tree that has a green bud on it.....maybe I won't either.

Thor does seem to be frowning - the sort of look the bad-tempered "madam" of a cat we had years back would give.

Here's hoping the snow stays well away from you - my blogworld friend in Alberta spent 3 hours digging her way out to her car on Monday after being snowed in while visiting her brother over the weekend!

Love your header photo of Thor. Great memories to you and all who read your blog.
Our garden is also confused, I had some blossom on the cherry tree, I hope this does not upset next years yield. Diane

Maybe Santa will bring a puppy to carry on Thor's memory.

I might have caught a sob in my throat when I saw a baby newt on my way to the car this morning. Our daytime high was pre-dawn, around 60. By dark, we'll have snow... not that it will stick to anything other than a poor baby newt tricked by a VERY late indian summer!

Nothing blooming here - it's definitely not warm enough to confuse the garden ! They're predicting snow flurries for Saturday. Flurries would be pretty for the big dinner, real snow - not so much.

Beautiful pic of Thor, although his look does seem to say 'aw, Mom, not again' LOL
