Weekend woes

Last weekend's plans included a batch of hot cross buns, throw pillows and maybe curtains. Last weekend's reality included a virus attack on Friday, followed by days of figuring out how to operate in safe mode (F8), racing around to buy flash drives to save photos, business documents, etc (I filled 2 each 8GB and 2GB flash drives, plus 2 8GB SD cards), then formatting the hard drive and beginning to reinstall everything.

So my plans to offer you beautiful hot cross buns and other delectable delights are on hold. I am almost done with reinstalling my software, after which I have to reinstall all the crap on aforementioned storage devices. I will be back here soon, but I did want everyone to know I've not fallen off the planet. Happy Tuesday!

Oh I don't envy you. I was worried about you and didn't know if you were sick or if the storms had knocked out your power. After you get your computer up and running, look into online back up at carbonite.com

Yuck. I am sorry about the virus - no fun at all. We constantly burn our photos on cd's and put them in the fire proof safe. Can't wait to see the hot cross buns.

I was worried about you! How awful that you are dealing with computer woes. I'm terrible at backing up all my stuff. Hope you get it all sorted out soon.

I Love Hot cross buns! I always get that when I'm in England to visit my parents-in-law! Please post yours, when the PC crisis is over!

Thanks for your supportive comment on my blog. I really am fond of hot cross buns, and I haven't been able to find them much where I live (except at Panera's, but they're NOT the same). Looking forward to learning your version!

Computer ills are the worst. I'd have pulled out some hair by now.

You have my sympathies, Marjie. About 6 years ago my old computer crashed with a virus. The only way hubby could get rid of it was to wipe my hard drive, I lost everything. Attempts to back things up just resulted in the virus contaminatining the back ups. Now I'm only bothered about saving my writing so I back up to a flash drive on a regular basis.
