Happy Thorsday!

When we replaced the kitchen and breakfast room floors, we moved Thor's dining station off the breakfast room floor, and into the kitchen (which remained tile). A few years back, I had stopped at a house I passed often to learn about their Great Dane, Jeffrey. I had observed that they had Jeffrey's bowls elevated. We did this for Thor's water, which is outside. Since I found two empty plastic buckets left in the kitchen after my son had mixed the mortar in which he set the tile, we stacked them and put Thor's food bowl atop them. Appearances of this photo notwithstanding, this has made him a neater eater, and I think he eats more, too.

Anyway, after letting Thor out yesterday morning, I noticed something strange in his food bowl.

Look what a closer examination revealed!
When Thor returned from frolicking in the yard, he raced over to his bowl, rescued Larry, and trotted around the table twice before settling down for a nap.

And when Mark got up yesterday, having slept late because he was sick, his friend gave him a big doggie hug and kiss.

Happy Thorsday, everyone!

Aww the toy in the bowl is so cute. I guess he knows what ever is in that bowl is his he thought it was a safe place for his prized toy. Great idea to elevate Thor's bowls.

Thor and Mark looks so cute together. How can you not feel better after a doggie hug.

Larry looks quite content in his food bowl home! How neat and tidy of Thor to keep him there. Hope Mark feels better soon ... especially with Doctor Thor in the house! :-)

It's sweet that Thor found a safe place for Larry to wait for him. I just love big dogs.

We bought a raised feeding station for Mugsy for the last few months of his life. I thought it would be ideal for Sissy, but she isn't crazy about it. Gretchen actually eats in her crate, sometimes seated, strangely enough.

My dogs have always dropped toys in and around their food and water bowls. Crazy dogs!

Awwwwww. Larry awaiting rescuing in the food bowl is so cute!
And there's nothing better than dog kisses to make you feel better, is there?

Of course Thor remembered where he put Larry!! There's nothing like puppy slobbers and kisses to make a person feel better! :)

He does need that raised area! Lobster food...yeah!

Is Larry a lobster? Must be, right? I've been craving lobster lately, but I think I'll let Thor keep Larry and go for something a bit ... er ... fresher. ;-) Hope Mark feels better. This cold thing is the pits, speaking from experience. Well, not speaking ... whispering, without my voice.

The lobster was just waiting for his supper. Didn't you know?

I can't believe Thor put his toy in his bowl LOL That is so cute. I think he wanted to put it there so nobody would get it. I love all of your pictures :>) Happy BTT ♥

Ahh! I love to hear about Thor and his Lobster-love. It's so opposite to our Dinkie's and her "Blåmann"! She's so little and Blåmann is twice as big as her, blue. What Thor and Dinkie have in common is that they Love their stuffed friend!

At least he didn't drop it in the toilet. Sunny carries her hedgehog around all the time. She also drinks out of the toilet. On more than one occasion, she has forgotten to drop the hedgehog BEFORE she drinks.

You know, I too read that it is better for dogs posture and consumption to have their bowls elevated. I bet that Thor was happy to have one of his boys back in circulation. ~ Robyn

What a great idea for an elevated food/water dish especially for such a big guy like Thor.

Oh the loving and caring Thor - wonderful. He is fortunate to have someone around all the time - the worst part for me is to leave the dog alone for several hours every work day.

Our Airedale had food guarding issues, as she was in many homes before she came here forever... We moved her food bowl from kichen to laundry room- problem solved!
