February Sewing

Well, sewing in February was pretty slow. I made a sleeveless princess seamed dress trimmed in matching lace, a cami and a jacket from that robin's egg blue velour. I know I took pictures, but can't find them anywhere. So, no pictures.

Then, to get myself enthused, I made a skirt from the remainder of the black and white fabric my daughter and I used to make that high waisted skirt back during Christmas vacation. I used the flounced skirt pattern, and think it came out nice! She was very excited when my box arrived. So that made me feel good.

I cut out a dress from a dark olive green sweater knit, but haven't done much with it. It was sunny and 55 on Saturday, so I didn't want to play with the sweater fabric I'd selected the previous weekend, when it was snowing.

Meanwhile, I joined "Club BVM" and bought a few patterns from them. The Pippa dress (bottom left) is just because I know I'll want it some day, but I have just the right fabric chosen for the one two over from it, shown in orange. That will be next weekend's project, and maybe I'll feel like sewing again with new patterns surrounding me!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Very cute skirt, and yes, you'll want the Pippa dress sooner or later. All the patterns look nice, but top left was what had me click over to see 'em larger.

I bought the Pippa pattern for just the same reason.

Wow! Wish I was your daughter!!! :-)

Between the "crisp white rolls" earlier in the week and now this gorgeous skirt, I really wish now I was born in your family!! :-)

My part of wicked brain is thinking "the Pippa dress is just a more shapely Vogue 1250" while the rest of it is thinking "with fabric cut on the cross? Oh Wow, 1030s style glamour"

The skirt looks so elegant and stylish, just right for S in her office.

The Macalls pattern on the top left looks like a fun summer/party dress for you - its full skirt wouldn't be too good here in Wellington's wind!

Let's see if my brain is working better:

My part = part of my

1030s = 1930s

Years ago my "dream gown" was sand-washed silk cut on the bias to be made into a 1930s style dress ......

I really like the style of that skirt. How I want to get my machine out. So much work to be done and getting the extra 3 rooms into working order though! Diane

Oooh Margie the Pippa Dress is gorgeous - can't wait to see that when you make it.

I am feeling very inspired!

My mum pursuaded me to invest in a sewing machine a few weeks ago but I am rubbish - I think cakes and baking are more my thing.

I had good intentions to make some little fabric hearts for Valentines day and it just never happened, so your sewing post has geed me up to have another go!
